StreamAlive
How I redesigned the presentation editor to remove friction, making it easier for users to create engaging interactive sessions.

New StreamAlive presentation editor page
StreamAlive transforms live sessions into interactive experiences. During Zoom calls, webinars, or livestreams, audiences type in the chat and StreamAlive turns their responses into real-time visuals—polls, word clouds, maps, spinner wheels, and quizzes. No second screens, no apps to download, no codes to enter. It also uses AI to automatically capture questions and generate relevant audience interactions.

Users couldn't figure out how to set up these interactive elements. The editor where they prepared their "Run of Show" (the sequence of interactions) was cluttered and confusing. Most people gave up or spent 45+ minutes struggling through it.

In collaboration with the product team, I analyzed support tickets, conducted user interviews, and reviewed analytics data to understand the current experience.
Most users never used the available interactive features
Many users abandoned first-time setup before completing their first presentation
Average time to create a presentation—significantly longer
Frequent tickets showed users struggled to add interactive elements
Based on user research (evidence), if we redesign the presentation editor with better organization and live preview (the bet) for all users, it will enable users to create interactive presentations faster and increase feature adoption (UX outcome).
I used the Triple Diamond approach to promote collaboration, research, and continuous improvement to achieve a user-centered solution.
Working with the product team, I conducted workshops and user interviews to define the project scope and understand user goals.
Design workshop
I ran a collaborative workshop to explore solutions:
Key questions:
Synthesis
From the workshop, we identified key themes:
From the opportunity discovery phase, the project scope and MVP were defined, initiating the ideation phase from low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes.

StreamAlive presentation editor – low-fidelity concepts

StreamAlive presentation editor – high-fidelity
A working prototype was built from the high-fidelity designs for moderated usability testing. These tests helped identify potential usability issues and prioritize improvements to enhance the overall user experience.
Most users found them on the first try.
Users appreciated seeing their work in real-time; it was essential.
Discoverable; the "Generate with AI" button was used frequently.
Reduced overwhelm; progressive disclosure worked well.
Using insights from usability testing, the redesigned editor was added to production for beta rollout internally before being released to all users.
To measure success, I tracked primary progress and usability.
